Oil spill in Gulf

Everyone is concerned about the oil spill that occured at the Gulf of Mexico. The big spill was a big disaster for B.P. On April 20th there was an explosion and fire on a drilling rig. 11 workers were missing and presumed dead. The rig eventaully sank two days later. This is a major issue. We have to look at this in every possible way with every possible option and what it can result in. The oil leak has spread and is realeasing up to 5,000 barrels a day. We have to act fast since B.P wass responsible but they cant handle it so they must be assisted by the government. The oil leak can effect us many ways it is infecting our water, our natural resources, Who knows where it can end up. Its also wasted oil, which is hard to find because it is a fossil fuel its not rennewable. Onced its used it is gone. This is hurtng B.P. as well they lost a lot of money and supply. This inncident can really hurt them and economy is already bad we dont need a major company to fail right now. Animals and wildlife are taking a beating from this too. It is violating and hurting their life in thier natural habitat. They will not be able to adapt and will soon wipeout. We have to see how all this can affect us in the long run. I just found out that there was a new leak recently found. Initially there were two leaks one at the end of the riser and the other from the source which is the wellhead. There is now a newly discovered third leak which means more oil is spewing out. The good news is that there was a sucessful way of removing some of the oil from the water. It is called an in-situ burn which basically moves the oil to another location and burns it. Not the best solution but a good start to remove the slimy stuff from the ocean. We just have to take everything one step at a time and slove this as soon as possible. Well see what happens through out the week.

Review of class party

The food I ate last Friday in our end of the year journalism party was good. I had 3 slices of Dominos pizza. Their new formula on the pizza is a real improvement. Their crust is just right, not too crispy and not too soggy. They also put garlic on it and it enhanced the flavor. It was a perfect party we had everything. From drinks to dessert. The chinese food was pretty good. I had rice and the chicken wings were crispy. The flavor of the general tso's chicken was great their sauce is always satisfying. The chips were alright they acted as our appetizers. The best part about eating was that we had soda to drink it down with. They had every kind of flavor. I drank orange soda and it was refreshing. At the end I had chocolate cakes with the creme filling. Overall it was a chill party we had friends, food, and music. Thats all we needed to have fun and fill our stomachs. Id like to thank everyone that was involved and the people who planned it out to make sure it went according to plan. I also liked how they got a gift for Mr.Mulligan at the end because he was the real reason we got to throw the party, he gave us his permission. He deserved it, he's a cool teacher to take his time out and think about us. What a way to do it too, connecting the party with a lesson about "food reviews." Well we hope you like the tie Mr. M, add it to your collection.

My 5 restaurant 5 night dream meal.

On day one I'm up for some traditional American seafood. I walked into Chadwick's and the place is nice. They have TVs with the game one and service going fast. I can smell the shrimp and salmon from my seat. As soon as I walked in with my family we were seated. I wanted to celebrate my Arista achievement. A waiter came to me and took my order. I ordered Chilled Maine Lobster Salad which contains lobster, corn relish tamale, mayonnaise and basil oil. As an entree I ordered jumbo shrimp and a lemon herbed grilled chicken sandwich. I end it all off with a cheesecake and a soft drink. Man what a meal I was satisfied a great night out with my family. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable. I felt there was so much privacy.
Day two I was hanging out with some friends and before we all headed home to watch the game we went to get some takeout. We didn't want Chinese so we tried a place known for their Hawaiian style. We walked into Hawaiian Island Grill and man that place was busy. They were cooking something because people lined up for their food like dominoes. Me and my friends wanted to get full so before we went to my place we ordered a whole lot of food on their menu from veggie and spring rolls to exotic soups. My main meal was the Hamburger Steak Honolulu Style with tender leaf ground beef along with special seasoning are formed into steak patties then flame broiled to perfection served with brown gravy and caramelized onions. It was great we enjoyed the Laker game, chilling and just relaxing the whole day.
My third day out I decided to try some Italian food and I'm not talking the corner pizzeria. Don't get me wrong I'm always down for a good slice of pizza but I wanted some real pasta with different spices, herbs, and sauces. I called my friends up and wanted to see if they wanted to go to the movies to catch Iron Man two. The movie was alright it was fairly entertaining, the action was the good story is kinda slow. The first one was better in my opinion. Anyway I already planned where we were going to eat and it was definitely Ballaro' in the city. An Italian restaurant that has great serviced great food and for a reasonable price. The atmosphere is very friendly, peaceful, and calm. That day was good the main thing attraction turned out to be the food. I ate a big meal and got what I want some real Italian food. I had fettuccine with Alfredo sauce and garlic. I also tried chicken Parmesan with baked zitti. Their meatball sandwich which my friend tried was awesome he gave me a piece and we tried one of their deserts called Apple Tart With Vanilla Gelato. It was creamy and scrumptious.
Its Day four and Its my mothers birthday. So me and my friends been out looking for what to buy her. On the way shopping I decided to get her a cake or some chocolate and I stopped by a restaurant. Its pretty unique its called Francois Chocolate bar. I think its a French owned store. They only sell decadent desserts. I'm a chocolate lover and I always like to try new cakes and other desserts to indulge myself. I brought my mom a chocolate financier and me and my friends tried some chocolate mousse. Before we left we wanted to see if their as good as Starbucks and they are better we grabbed some iced coffee, caramel mochiatas, and hot chocolate. to bring something home from my brother and just so I have something sweet at home I brought a Du Japonais. It looks and sounds mouthwatering with its layers of hazelnut dacquoise, milk chocolate mousse, yuzu citrus and milk chocolate. We went home and surprised my mom with all those sweet treats. She was real happy and So was I.
The last day, Day five I am going to go to the restaurant with my cousin and family. My cousin just travels a lot around the world because hes a flight attendant. my cousin comes once in a lifetime, I don't see him often so I wanted to treat him good. I wanted to take him somewhere nice with foods he is familiar with and something he likes. I went to an Afghan restaurant called the Afghan Kebab house. Its a family place with a lot of nice decorations. The place was clean and quiet. their kebabs are really their main attraction and we had a lot of it. We had Samosas in the beginning for appetizers. For entrees we tried all almost all their kebabs. Beef, chicken, shrimp, salmon, fish, and lamb. Later we spoke and caught up with each other. Made some jokes had some laughs and our main meals came Lamb korma and chicken Tikka with fried rice. Not only was the meat freshly cooked but their rice had great spices and flavor. Before we left me and my brother always get this if we come here because we go here often when there is family visiting or guest. SO we decided everyone gets a mango lassie. It was refreshing. We went home with our stomachs full. So there we have it. My five day line up each day with a bang. I wonder what I should try next.

My top 5 restaurants

What foods would I eat if I had all time in the world with unlimited funds? That's a good question. Well all I know is my choices will also be endless. I can have any type of food I want. Here are some of my restaurant choices. If I wanted to eat I could eat in any restaurant, anything and anywhere. The restaurant would have to have great food and great service. I'm talking five star. If I was up for some American seafood I would go to Chadwick's in Brooklyn 3rd ave. Its the best place to go the service is great and their meals are fresh. They are open almost everyday of the week with flexible hours. They specialize in seafood but also sell soups, steaks, pork chops, and dessert. The restaurant is kid friendly and they have live entertainment. Their restaurant is homey and sophisticated you can even close a dining room for your own private party. That's number one if I want to go close by and go for traditional American food. If I wanted to try something new. I would go to a Hawaiian restaurant. There one in 231 E 53rd street called Hawaiian island Grill. I wanted to try some tropical food from the Caribbean or how their styles are. The price is reasonable and the best part they serve big portions. They serve things like sandwiches and salads but in their style with new ingredients and spices. They also have sushi and different appetizers such as rolls but the main attractions are their lunch specials. I would like to try their Barbecue Ahi which is seven ounces of yellow fin tuna seasoned with call and pepper then grilled and finished with a wasabi colemans yellow mustard soy sauce sushi ginger accompanies the fish. Their sauces are one thing that people give really good feedback off. The only weird thing is that this is not a real restaurant, you cant eat in its takeout only. Number three on my list would be Ballaro', it is an Italian restaurant at 2nd ave in Manhattan. I love Italian food with all their different herbs and spices. Their sauces and unique dishes are wonderful and creative. I'm always up for a good slice of pizza but I also marinara sauce with pasta. Ballaro's specialty is mixing meets with different cheeses sauces and spices. They also have different beverages form their own creations to black, chamomile, green, fruit, and mint tea. They also have lattes, mochiatas, frappacinos and regular cold drinks. This is one restaurant I would check out. As for number 4 I wouldn't really be a restaurant for meals but a bakery. I love to try different desserts because I have a sweet tooth. There's a place called Francois chocolate bar. It locate ed at 714 Madison Ave 4th Fl, New York. I wouldn't go there if I'm hungry this is if I'm craving some chocolaty or dessert. Anyway this bakery has variety of every single Delicious item you can think of in chocolate. They also have non chocolate items. They have pastries, cakes, and drinks. So if you don't want something scrumptious you can slurp on a chocolate drink or coffee. I would try one of their Verrines called Du Japonais. It has layers of hazelnut dacquoise, milk chocolate mousse, yuzu citrus and milk chocolate. Just the sound of it make you want to try it but I actually know what it is. I heard their Chocolate financier is also good. Last on my list but not least coming at number 5 is Afghan Kebab House at 9th avenue in the city. I like to try different kinds of kebabs its great because they have shrimp, chicken, lamb ,fish, and tandoori kebab. They also have beef and lamb korma which is kind of like a stew with chunks of lamb, tenderly cooked with fresh onions, tomatoes, potatoes, green peppers, herbs and spices. Their steaks are something to try and vegetable and rice dishes. Afghan desserts are somewhat tasty too. Depends what you get and what your taste buds prefer but one thing that everyone likes is Mango Lassie which is a combination of milk yogurt and mango with ice. Its like a smoothie and it tastes great. Its refreshing I always look to get one if go. Any way those are my top 5 restaurants if i can have anything I want. I would try different foods almost every item on the menu and It would be from different cultures. If I could I would go to the nations as a trip to travel and eat how that origin of food tastes in the country itself. These are in New York so it will have to do. My choices are all five star restaurants that have great service. So check out some of these stores if you are heading to a restaurant any time soon. Its good to try new things you never know you might like it. Hope it helped

Restaurant Review: Sizzler

I know everybody must have been to Sizzler at one point but those who haven't you don't know what your missing. There are many Sizzler restaurants but the one I go to is in Forest Hills. Service was alright it wasn't great but good, its stand able. This is a medium sized store and fairly attractive. If your hungry and your up for some good food with a wide variety of items you should stop by here. It is not gourmet food or a five star restaurant but it beats going to McDonald's or any other greasy fast food. The meals they have are exceptionally good meals. It depends what your up for and what your taste is. They have items that are made form the grill such as grilled steaks that's their specialty. Sizzler also does seafood, chicken, ribs, sandwiches and burgers. They also have specials every week that help you out from making your pockets empty. They have good deals and they also have specific foods for kids so if you bring the family and your just not out with friends your kids can get something in their level too. Such as 6 oz steak or a 1/3 pound burger. The thing that attracted me and my friends the most when we went was the salad bar especially because we were hungry and wanted to eat until we were satisfied. Now I know what your thinking , Salad Bar? how can you get full with that but its a tricky name. Its a salad bar but the bar contains more than just salad. It is actually an all you can eat buffet for maybe $6-$9. At the bar they have everything you can think of such as salads, gourmet soups, hot appetizers, fresh taco bar, just picked fruit, and dessert. That's a lot of stuff to try and the salad is customizable they have so many ingredients to add that you can chose the different fruits or vegetables cheeses and dressings to top it over. You chose one drink and you get unlimited refills. They have different soups and appetizers. They underrate themselves. They have rice, macaroni & cheese, a variety of macaroni salad, chicken wings, fried baby shrimp, onion rings, pasta, meatball and spaghetti, and the items are endless. There are so many other possibilities but I just don't remember because I was too full to try them. Any way the best part is after all that food you want to indulge yourself. Everyone has a sweet tooth. Its great that the salad bar also has dessert. It has self soft serve ice cream machine where you can create your own sundae in a cup or on a cone. They had different things to top them with like cherry, sprinkles, nuts, chocolate syrup, chocolate chip. You get the point. Also if your not a fan of ice cream for those lactose intolerant people luckily they have more than one dessert. You can have jello, pudding and create your own fruit salad. My hunger was quenched after that huge meal and it was only a purchase of one item. I had fun that day and I was happy. So you should check it out if you want to have a good time. Its affordable, tasty, and satisfying. I give my Sizzler experience a 3 out of 5 its a good restaurant with good food and good service.

Chocolate Bouchons with Fresh Raspberry

The name says it all. This small bite size dessert features rich chocolate cake shaped in a cork filled with bits of melted chocolate. On top of that it has drizzles of raspberry syrup and fresh raspberries. The name Bouchon is French and the name comes form the shape of a cork. Cork means Bouchon in French. It was inspired by Thomas Keller's Bouchon bakery. The best part about it is its not that hard to make if you have all the supplies. Its fast too it only takes 20-22 minutes to cook and 10 minutes to prepare. That's a total 30-32 minutes, not bad huh. It also serves up to 16 people. The ingredients you need in order to make these delicacies are 1 box of cake mix, 2 cups of mini chocolate chips, a pint of fresh raspberries and a jar of raspberry jam. To prepare follow the instructions below. Any way I didnt try this but it looks prettty good and I did try something that looks similar with fruit and It tasted pretty good. I would like to have this for dessert, I like trying new things and this looks pretty attractive. Enjoy hope I helped out with all you chocaholics, we all need a little indulgence at times.

Preparation
1.Preheat oven to 350°F.

2.Spray muffin pan or bouchon baking mold with cooking spray.

3.Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Add 2 cups mini chocolate chips to the batter.

4.Portion batter 2/3 full into a 2″ x 1″ deep muffin pan or bouchon baking molds.

5.Bake for 20-25 minutes. Test with a wood skewer or toothpick - it should come out clean but not dry.

6.Transfer mini bouchon chocolate cakes to a cooling rack. After cooling for a few minutes invert the bouchon pan and let them cool.

7.Meanwhile place 1 cup raspberry jam in saucepan and warm.

8.Arrange mini bouchon chocolate cake on plate and drizzle one teaspoon warm raspberry jam over each and garnish with red raspberries.

Miss USA Rima fakih

So this year's miss USA winner is Rima fakih. She is the first Arab American to win the beauty pageant and thats a big step for them. As a lebanese female and a muslim she has worked her way up to a model. A very hard professional career to make especially after the 9/11 and other terror attacks. Many people speculate about Muslims and Arabians how they are somehow connected to terrorism and this prejudice leads to hardships for Arabs. Now this theory is starting to be proven because Rima also won the pole dancing contest in 2007. This is ridiculous get off her back she just won the pageant and now they are already doing background checks. The past is the past and I dont think it was all that bad she wasnt naked she was just provocatively dancing on a pole. Probably having some fun or trying to win the contest because thats what shes good at. I mean now that she is a model she will probably have to show even more skin and take more seductive pictures. Im sure past models have done their fare share mistakes or maybe even worse. People are making a big deal out of this because of her race and religion. Hey when your that good at something or you make it and do it big, people underestimate you and feel stupid when you prove them wrong. I like Miss Fakih's attitude toward her opposers I agree just brush those haters off. She represents her ethnicity big time and is confident, she is not embarrassed to sticking with her family. I guess people will always be judging you but at the end you just gotta live your life. One thing she achieved is that nn a way she has changed the view of Arabs and gave a positive image. She has showed that not only Arabs are beautiful and good looking but they are good people at heart too. They love the country they live in and they want to be part of Americas melting pot. So many racial barriers have been broken that made a statement this year such as President Obamas win at the election. That will be in the textbooks but this is going down in the history of beauty pageants.

American Idol top 3 finalist

American Idol is now getting more and more intense. It has come down to only 3 contestants. They are Lee Dewyze, Casey James, and Crytal Bowersox. Last week it was Aaron Kelly and yesterday it was Michael Lynche that has left. He was a good singer i think he will be very successful even tough he didn't make it. He could sing and lets face it if your just in the top 10 in American idol you will get signed by someone or hit fame. Maybe not from J records but eventually you will get noticed. Look at Chris Daughtry for example and how successful he is. My predictions for Idol is between Crytal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze. They both have talent in their own styles. Lee is a rockstar type singer but he can also do R&B. Crytal is just all out R&B. Casey James looks alternative, country and rock. My best bet is Lee Dewyze he is unique and a fan favorite. Crytal will go far too because she can hit high notes. Its a hard one but well see what happens in the future.

Elena Kagans Supreme Court nomination

I found two similar editorials on the same topic. Its on the same topic which is President Obamas possible candidate for a Supreme Court Justice. One article is from Fox News which is titled Why Ultra-Liberal Obama Needs Kagan on the Court.. The other one is from the New York post and is titled The Kagan Nomination. Even though the topic of the editorial is the same and there are many similarities. There are many differences as well. For example the following.

Five Differences

-The editor from NY Post thinks Kagan is a good candidate for the Supreme Court Justice but its too soon to say. While the editor form Fox news thinks shes a good candidate for President Obama because she is a liberal and he can use that to his advantage.

-The one from NY post give a positive feel to the article and gives the facts as if agreeing with the choice and the one from Fox News is sort of neutral but still gives and opinion that its just good for Obama's benefit and a great candidate but not for the country.

- The details provided is also different. NY Post editor tells us facts of what she did and did not do in the past. Such as how she participated in government and the courtroom. Fox News gives us a background of Kagans experience. The editor talks about what school she graduated from and what her relationship is with Obama. Turns out they are good friends.

-The New York Post editor talks about the viewpoints of Kagan if she is for gay marriage and capital punishment. The editor also talks about why the Senate shouldn't rush and also judge Kagan on privacy rights, race or gender discrimination, and free speech. The Fox News editorial speaks about how she has liberal viewpoints and how she is a good candidate based on her health and age.

- Lastly, Well it is true one article is longer than the other lol na jk there are a lot more but that's all for now.

Oil spill proves it's Obama who is all hat and no cattle

Dear Fox News editor, I have read your article on the oil spill 40 miles off the coast of the Mississippi due to an explosion on an oil rig owned by BP. Yes you are right that this is a problem but you are wrong for judging the President too quickly. This is a rough cased to deal with especially because president Obama also had to deal with the Time Square bombing. Obama is a busy man I don't blame him for making an attempt to act 9 days after the explosion. He probably thought BP can handle it for now and that he will get to it as soon as possible. At least he took care of it that and did something that shows responsibility. Opposed to president Bush and the Hurricane Katrina incident or even during 9/11. President Bush was visiting a school during the attack. When he was informed quietly by secret service that the country is under attack he simply sat there nodding his head and then continued reading the book with the children. He was in total shock and fear You have to try and see the other side of the story. You really don't know what someone goes through until you take a walk in their shoes. You said the President is a man of thought and not action but he puts his thoughts to action. SO far what about the health reform and closing of Guantanamo bay? The president lived up to his word and I'm pretty sure those thoughts helped him do that. At least he thinks unlike a former president we had, he couldn't think, act, or even speak. Why is Fox News always finding a way to charge the president with something.Especially President Obama who is a Democrat. I never saw this kind of action with President Bush. Why do you want him to fail, does the case of race have anything to do with it, is it something personal or just political differences. I know one thing this president has the potential to be very successful and prove every one wrong. So just give him a break he just came to office. Have some patience

Couldn't they just tag him?

Dear New York Times editor, I have read your editorial and I agree with your views on the baseball game tasing inncident. A Phillies fan ran out on the field during a game and he was tased by the cops. Yes the 17 year old kid, Steve Consalvi shouldn't have ran on the field. He had no right to and was wrong for doing it but why lead to tasing, Should he get punished? Yes, but not that way. I understand the other side of the story where players need protection from fans because there are a lot of crazy people out there that are possible threats. Think about it though what sort of threat could he have been. He didnt look like a threat just an ordinary kid who wanted to do something extreme to have fun or to live up to a bet, besides he was out numbered where can he have gone. Probably disrupted the game but there are other things you can do before you take extreme measures. You can chase him, tackle him, then arrest him or ban him from the stadium. Tasing has the potential to kill someone if used at the right voltage. So it shouldnt have been the officers first option. You only tase when its an emergency and if your in danger because of a threat. This did not look like any emergency or a extreme threat. Only a frustrated officer who wanted to get things done quickly because of a wild fan. Think about it what if this kid was seriously injured or hurt. What would his parents think or feel. The police officer is not at fault here. He was just doing his job trying to act quick. I'm just saying he could have taken care of the matter by making better choices based on the scenario.

A firing squad for Faisal

Dear New York post editor, I have read your article and It seems you are not happy with the way government is treating terrorism. You are right they do have a lot of mistakes but one thing that disturbs me is that you seem to put out a bad image for all Muslims around the World. Well I beg to differ and think that is absurd. Did anyone ever stop to ever think about why terrorism is going on. Why these so called "Islamic" countries are trying to attack the U.S. What could they possibly want, power? No these are third world countries they don't have that scope to think or even try to conquer a bigger and better nation. They are weak in numbers militarily and they don't have the money to supply weapons. The best choice of word is revenge, can you think of any other reason why they would want to hurt us or attack. Obviously we done something to get them mad. In their eyes we are the terrorist. Did you sir ever try to get that sort of thinking or process into that thick nationalist skull of yours. I'm not saying that the people that resort to terrorism are right for doing it but maybe we are the ones that drove them there is all I'm pointing out. Did you know that terrorism is against Islam itself. Islam is about peace. Terrorist misuse, misguide, and disgrace the religion. Any way back to the topic. U.S isn't all that great you know. ITs called google check it out and do your research next time. America has been bombing other countries, conquering, going to war, and using imperialism to "help"other countries for years to come. Yea right in other words "help" meaning for America's own benefit. We have tried to be the police of the world and used that power in many twisted or mislead ways at times. This is reality and what High school textbooks leave out. How do you think they became a superpower and is as successful as they are now. Furthermore you have got to be kidding me with the firing squad. Do we even know for sure Faisal Shahzad did this. Yea kill him fine and what does that achieve we become just like them. Also what good is it to start controlling our immigration. That's racial discrimination and against the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th amendment in the Constitution. That's just like blaming any other race based on past or present disasters/attacks. That's pathetic that you would single out all Muslims because of fear and anger. Even Muslims in America fear of the terrorist attack that are spontaneous. They don't know when it will strike they are just like the rest of us. Not everyone is a radical Islam. Leave it to human beings to panic and start pointing fingers at each other when something goes wrong. We have to realize that terrorism is drifting us apart and we still have to respect each other and cooperate so we can work together. Whatever happened to United we stand ?

End Homeland insecurity

Dear Daily News Editor, I am with you all the way with this issue. There are two things I agree with. One is that we are too clueless about our enemy. For example, look at the 9/11 incident and the Iraqi war. During 9/11 we had no idea who did it, it hit us as a total shock. We blamed Osama Bin Laden, and we don't know if he really did it but well take the governments word for it. We blamed Saddam for WMD's and he ended up having none. We went to war with Afghanistan first to defeat Al'quada which is Osama's army. Then we went to Iraq and now we don't know who we are fighting because everyone looks like civilians. Its a guerrilla warfare or insurgency. If we want a safe environment we should be on the crime and the perpetrator right away. We shouldn't even let them get the opportunity to strike. Its easier said than done but that brings up my second topic. If we work hard enough we can achieve to fight against terrorism. In order to do that, we must have dedicated and effective workers who know what they are doing. For example,Homeland Security. Secretary Janet Napolitano is not doing a good job on the Time Square bombing case. Its as she is slacking and very far behind the game. She should of know what was going on and who was planning it. She also described the contents of the SUV as amateurish bomb technique. Not making a big deal out of it when if it did go off correctly it would have killed many people. Napolitano didn't know about Faisal Shahzad and that he got through airport security and was already boarded on a plane headed to Pakistan. Janet Napolitano misread everything and of all people,SHE should have been aware of a rising threat. I'm not trying to be harsh, people do make mistakes but I'm just saying that she should start taking things more serious and work more harder. Become more tough and precise so she can make an effective effort in fighting terrorism. If she cant handle that then we need to find someone who can.

Cheap Cameras are Useless,Focus on terror and a new RIng of Steel camera system

Dear Daily News Editor, You are exactly right and you make a good point. I agree with you, we do need some changes to be more cautious and have more protection. New York City is huge and people are moving fast everyday because they are busy. As they say time is money and we dont always have time to spot the little things that lead to big crimes. For example the recent Time Square bombing, What did the cameras do? We dont even know if the man we accused is the same man identified on the camera. The cameras we have in NYC are useless. Whats the point of putting low budget cameras that give blurry images, the whole reason for putting them up is security and if it doesn't give us that then its pointless. You can get better cameras with high quality images that are affordable by the common man. I think we can all agree that even we can get better cameras than the one the City puts up. Maybe it will be a little more than the standard ones we have now but I dont think money should be a factor when there are lives at stake. These cameras can make a big difference, we should get them up and running. We can't use any real evidence with the video image we have of the suspect. It could have been anybody in that video. It just showed a man changing his clothes in Times Square. What crime can we charge him for but just a reasonable suspicion. Also the picture we found of him and his family members in Times Square is also irrelevant. Who doesnt go to the City to hangout. Everybody does, its just a family night out. Where did we get this guy from, Faisal Shazad. Did we just pull a name out from a hat? its just wierd it looks as if this was plotted we should have know about the car way before and maybe we would have if security was on point and if our cameras helped us out which it didnt. I think theres more to this story that meets the eye. The government needs to step their game up if they really want to fight terrorism. They shouldnt have even let this attempt be an attmept or have a chance of happening. Im glad they acted quick and no one got hurt but its very disturbing that they didnt have a clue. Get to it and rise security quickly because people are starting to feel unsafe. Whether its research, cameras, or more police officers.

Times Square bombing

There was a risk of bombing activity in Manhattan, 42nd street also known as Times Square. The attempt to make a very destructing scenario turned out to be nothing serious. Thank god it was stopped in time because it had the potential to make a statement. If one of the witnesses didn't spot smoke coming form a vehicle which was a blue Nissan Pathfinder, it could have injured and killed many people. In the vehicle police found a gun locker which contained eight bags of unknown substances which was later identified as non-explosive fertilizer. They were not a threat it was incapable of blowing up. Police officials also removed three propane tanks weighing in from 15 to 27 pounds. These were described as the kind used for backyard barbecues. One of the tanks had M-88 firecrackers attached to the side. Other than the gas tanks gasoline containers were found. Between the gasoline was a 16 ounce container filled with 20 to 30 M-88 firecrackers. On the floor of the car were two clocks that were connected with the gun locker and the can filled with the firecrackers. Were lucky that the bomb did not detonate. If it was blown the way it was suppose to the car would be split in half and we would have suffered a great number of casualties. The explosion did not have the capability of or strength to take down a structure. Had it not been for a food vendor to find out and alert a police officer in time the plan would have not been foiled, this all went down at 6pm evening. This allowed Officers to act quicks and bigan evacuating stores and civilians form the activity. They also had some stores on lockdown. Hats off to the vendor for also acting quick and taking responisibility as a citizen. Anyway turns out the Pathfinder had false license plates. They belong to another car and the VIN number was removed. There are many investigations on what was going on and who did it. They might have a possible suspect that changed his clothes near the car and then later left. Surveillance tapes are being reviewed for possible suspects of the crime. There are also rumors of Pakistani taliban called Tehrik-e Taliban that placed a video on the internet. They claimed they did it and took responsibility for the foiled attack but Police Commissioner Kelly claim they have no real evidence of this. The attacks purpose was to get revenge of thier leaders that were killed by American Forces. Also American and N.A.T.O interference at that part of the World. At the time President OBama was in Venice,Louisianna where he was taking care of the massive oil spill in the Gulf Coast. President Obama promise was "to see that justice is done." That is all on the story for now. No one is sure of who did it and why but there are still investigations goin on. We will know in a few weeks with a follow up on the story.

Blogging about the End of her life

25 year old Eva Markvoot had cystic fibrosis and created her blog 65_RedRoses to document her struggle in life. This disease is incurable, it causes mucus to gather in the lungs. For four years she has been blogging about her life with a terminal disease. It was very rare to get a double lung transplant so chance of surviving was to a minimum. This is not the interesting part. Its not meant to be a tragic story but one that is inspirational believe it or not. Whats amazing is that this young woman knows she is going to die and in her video this is what she said. "Hello to the World at large. To my blog, to my friends, to everyone. I have some news today. It's kinda tough to hear, but I can say it with a smile. My life is ending." Eva Markvoot knew she was going to die one day and she was living life to the fullest. She was prepared and instead of grieving she wanted to be connected to the world. According to Dr. Chris Fuedtner, research director Palliative Care Services at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. What the World is experiencing over the last decade has been a cultural shift. Publicly sharing your thoughts is a way to vent and acknowledge that the end is near and it decreases the fear and shame of death. Lets face it we all want to share what happens in our everyday lives through out the day. Hundreds and millions of people log into networking website such as Facebook and Twitter just to update their status messages its not surprising that someone would want to do this. Its interesting. People with terminal diseases must have a mindset of that they are still alive and they don't want to be closed off from the world not just yet. They want to use their time to explore and connect with others. So they let us know whats in store for us, what they learned during this new experience or situation for them. Through their journey and hardship they not only tell us what we want to know but what we need to know or be prepared for. Face it we will all come to this day we just don't know how and when. Eva Markvoot would not only connect with the world but tried to find other patients online as well. She would post videos write about her days upload pictures of her having fun with her family and friends. It wasn't always like this Eva didn't let you forget about the reality when doing her videos she would have cases of vomiting, nausea, hours trying to gasp for breath, and sleepiness. "I'm drowning in medication, I cant breath." Is what she wrote one time in her blog. Eva showed you her life but the theme of her blog was mostly surrounding love. Eva didn't know how much time she had and already processed that she was dying. So she celebrated her life due to a sense of urgency to fulfill it. "This is the end of my life but its not the end of my love." said Markvoot in a video entry. Unfortunatley we lost her, she died Tuesday Morning March,27. The same way Eva opened up her life for strangers using her blog, her parents will do the same with a live stream recording of a memorial service for Eva. You can see it at her blog 7 p.m. Friday. That was Eva's last wish to her mother. She thought it would be cool to let her family post for her bloggers how it is even after she is gone. R.I.P. Eva Markvoot. You were a brave person, I respect you giving up your dreams but still being optimistic and living life. I respect you for inspiring people through out the world and reaching out to them. Even right now I am blogging about you and your blog, pretty ironic. You will surely be remembered by many of your friends, family, and fans.
If you want more news on this story you can visit Eva Markvoots blog at 65_RedRoses.livejournal.com or you can follow up on the full detailed coverage of the story on CNN at the hyperlink below..... You know what I realized its crazy how one individual can have such a huge impact on the World.

Yanks at DC

The New York Yankees are going to visit President Obama at the White house to celebrate their World Series win. They're on tour and on the way they will be also stopping by the Walter Reed Medicial Center at the nations capital, with the World Series trophy to visit wounded soldiers. Im sure President Obama is very excited to meet them but he is loyal to his team. President Obama was caught wearing a White Sox cap while throwing his first honorary pitch at a home opener for the Washington Nationals. President Obama is a White Soxs fan, raised in Chicago he made it clear that he likes the Soxs better than the cubs another team in Illinois. He even asked the military soldiers that were with him who they taught were the better team. Most soldiers favored the Cubs and President Obama chuckled "Terrible." Our President is a pretty cool guy he's very realistic and fun to be around. Any way its a busy week for the Yankees as they will be visiting the Supreme Court and meet Justice Sonia Sotoamyor, a New York native. After wards maybe a posible lunch with the Senate and wounded soldiers. These events will definetly mark thier Championship win .Yup its a busy but interesting week for the players. I wonder what Derek Jeter is thinking now that hes gonna meet the president.

Goin Green? yea right

I'm sure you hear the term now days that everyone is going green. Its like the hottest thing on the block going green and turning environmental. To help our natural habitat and to preserve our resources. They started to tell people to take off chargers and turn lights off if your not using it. That's good it does save electricity but you shouldn't have to tell people that it should be natural instinct. Be real I mean why would you leave something on if your not using it. That's just being retarded your just gonna get your electric bill up and wastes it electricity and energy. You shouldn't try to go green just because someone says it, you should already do it from the beginning its not that hard to stop wasting and start saving. Many people don't realize these things or even care, so far going green is not successful. There are only a select few who try make an attempt to save energy and adapt to a certain lifestyle. Any way I heard that now we have recyclable cars that also run on electricity. Gas is gonna be a old thing if more of these cars start to produce and for a low price too. That's the only problem these cars are very expensive its like a luxury. What I don't understand is if you really want people to go green why should it be a privilege only a few people can afford the car. You should make it cheaper or at a reasonable amount so majority can purchase it instead of a select few. Its pretty cool though the new Hybrid cars run on batteries and you can recharge them. Also most car parts that are old can be recycled because it was made from organic and raw materials. Next thing you know there will be solar powered cars. Hey they're working on them.

Destruction in Thailand

Recently in Bangkok,Thailand at least two people were killed and as many as 50 wounded due to a grenade explosion. The grenades were launched frm the area where anti-government protestors also known as the Red shirts had gathered to riot. The police and helicopter were not in the area at the time. Prime minister Abihist Vejjajiva had an emergency meeting with theThai armed forces chief on what to do to protect the people. The purpose for the Red shirts to do this because they are against Abihist. They want him to dissolve from the government. They are very pro Minister Thaksin. They want new elections and they want Abihist to leave the country. On Monday about 1,500 troops form Thailand military will be stationed at the area. To protect the financial center at houses office of the nations largest companies. Many clashes between both sides have caused many loss in citizen deaths. Thailand is now in a state of emergency. This is some serious stuff right here. Too bad were not doing anything about it

Kal Penn gets robbed

you guys all remember him as Kumar from White Castle or Dr.Kuttner from House. Well his real name is Kal Penn. He put his acting business on hold for a while and went to work with the President at the White House. Kal is still a current member of President Obama's staff. He is the Associate Director in the office of Public Engagement. Recently he got mugged. It happened in D.C. , some guy decided to take a gun and point it at him which was really stupid. Dont mess with Kumar guys he will get his poeple on you. The perp took Kal's wallet and two cellphones. One of the cellphones was given by the government and one was his own personal one. The robber has both so now the Government can track him. The secret service is trying to hunt him down right now. They joined Metro Police dept of D.C. This is so dumb I mean how retarded is this guy to rob government staff. I hope he gets caught. Deosnt he know what GPS is. Its on all the new phones especially government cell phones. see what happens when you are illiterate and you dont know who your dealing with. He probably thought Kal is just any ordinary guy. In the movies he is really funny but Kal is a very smart guy. Afterwards he contacted White House communications, who stopped service on the stolen phone and gave Penn a new one. No official numbers were on the phone so no information was obtained either. Im just glad hes alright and the Secret service got his back. good luck to Kal on his currnet job and the to finding the robber but I hope he does still get back to showbiz and do some funny movies and cool shows.

Playoff predictions

The playoffs have begun and today the Lakers play once again. They beat the Thunders although it was a great battle. Russel Westbrooks and Kevin Durant both put up some great numbers and showed incredible athletcisim. I think Kevin Durant will be a great player in the future even though he right now he is one but he will get even better. I think his team is capable of winning but I dont think they will win the whole series ir make it to the playoffs. Lakers are looking pretty storng, they will take this series but can they make it to the finals once again. Who knows maybe they will but it will be hard. I dont think they will this year. I hope they do though. Cavs are defintely gonna beat Chicago but Derek Rose is a great player he is leading his team and playing hard but there is just not enough talent compared to the Cavs team. Derek Rose is also a great player to look for in the future. I go for Miami but Boston is gonna beat them unfortunatley if Dwade had another potential athlete to work with him he would get somewhere. I think the Nuggets are gonna win. Mr. Bigshot Aka bbbbBillups and Carmelo is gonna tear it up. Deron Williams is a good pointgaurd and Utah is a good team but the Nuggets overall are better. Suns and Blazers are a good matchup maybe blazers can take it. Dallas and Spurs. I think Spurs will take it.Hawks will definetley beat the Bucks. Magics will defintley take the Bobcats maybe even Sweep them.

K-Mart making his team look like fools

Kenyon Martin is a jokester as we all know. You can clearly see it on the court he can take a joke. At times he can also look like a grouch. On April 1stone of his teammates went too far on an April Fool pranks. He took it to the next level. He filled one of Martins rangerover with buttered popcorn. Martin was furious. The popcorn ruined his white interior and Martin went berserk. He told his teammates and quote "I swear to god,boy....when I find out who did it... Im gonna put my motherf**ckin hands on one of ya'll. Im gonna put my hands on whoever did it on... you best believe it...its f**ckin personal. Later after Martin was calm he found out it was teammate J.R. Smith's driver. The Driver apologized for the prank but Martin did not accept. I would me mad too though it mean its a car messin up the interior tha tmaybe hard to clean. So never mess with a mans whip. Its very valuable. Thats like going over the limit to a prank. It loks kind of suspicous because why would J.R. Smiths driver do it. Maybe J.R. smith had it planned or arranged but let his driver take the fall for it. He mightve wanted to stay on Martins goodside.

MJ the king of pop gone because he popped some pills

Recently they are going over the cause of micheal Jacksons death. So far it is not certain of what it was but they have a possible explanation. Micheal had trouble sleeping the night before his death. Police found his pill bottle that contained energy boosted pills. It would get the singer hype for a big show. The bottle had no lable on it but had 13 tablets. Each tablet contained a little bit of ephederine, caffeine, and aspirin. Ephederine has been banned in the U.S. because it had a history of heart attacks, strokes, and different deaths. One pill had 25mg of ephederine,200mg of caffeine, and 80mg of aspirin. the caffeine in the pills are equivalent to six cans of soda. The rug was found in Michaels urine. Was this a planned death? Why would doctors prescribe that medicine if it was already banned? Why would he take it if he knew it had risks. It could have been a natural death but think about it you never know. They might charge his doctor for murder or Malpractice for the wrong diagnosis. They might take his medical license away. They will get to the bottom of it eventually and we will know about it.

Kick Ass

Theres a new comedy movie thats coming out April 16. Its about a kid who lives alone with his dad and is a die hard comic fan. Dave Lizewski starts to think about why people dont turn into superheroes in real life or even try. He wanted to try it and so he also inspired his group of friends to starts. So they become superheroes themselves and try to put the theory to the test. There are four friends. They make their own costumes and come up with their own names. They have no real superpowers but they still don't find a real reason not to be a hero. They have no powers or training. The slogan of the movie is real funny, "I cant fly but I can kick your ass." I would go watch this movie it looks like a movie that would be funny and entertaining at the same time, maybe even at the end it teaches a little lesson about life or sends a message. There was actually a comic book before called Kick ass and its based on the comic book of a kid trying to be a superhero in reality with his mediocre life. So they made a movie on based on the comic. it looks like its going to be good. ill probably watch it if I want to go laugh and chill with some friends.

iPad

Apple recently came out with a new invention. The product is called an iPad. It is the same design of a iPhone or ipod touch, but bigger. Its like a handheld PDA. It has a home screen like the ipod touch/iphone and it has that one home button. The starting price of the iPad is $500 those of you that want this you should slow down and wait. I think it will go down to at least $300-$200 in a couple of months. It has the same apps as the iPhone except the phone. you can now use the Internet on safari, check your mail, listen to music, watch videos, buy music on itunes, download apps, write notes, use organizers and look at maps. All on a bigger screen. it may have some new designs or layouts but the functions are the same. The new feature it has is iWorks and keynote, the applications on a Mac operating system. Now you can make documents and presentations, that's about it. Yes this product might look good and appealing but in a few week it will get tiring. Its just another trend thing. It looks too big there are other PDA's that are smaller. I don't recommend it even though its a great designed product because it is too expensive. You might as well buy a laptop or an iPhone which can probably do the same things. If you really are interested in getting it I suggest you wait because Apple always lowers the prices or comes out with a new generation that's better and cheaper. So that way you don't need to upgrade and waste your money. Apple always does that when they slow down on sales, its called marketing. If you want to learn more about the product click this hyperlink:http://www.apple.com/ipad/features/.

SATs

Most of us in Mr.Mulligans 8 period journalism class are juniors and SATs are coming up. You guys should have already start studying. This is no joke and its more than just a regents. Its serious business colleges look at these. I know its a stupid test we all ahve to agree. Even the smartest person could get a bad score because they are not good under pressure or time. Their not clutch. Even the least brightest student can get a good grade. Its all about strategy and techniques. Oh and remember to sign your name its the easiest way to get 200 points. If you dont I will laugh in your face because if you spell your name wrong that just sad and hilarious. If you take SAT prep classes thats great. If you don't try taking the practice test on Collegeboard.com. Try timing yourself and pace yourself. SAT exam is a timed test its all about time. How fast can you do problems because once your done with one section you cant go back. you can also use books they have in the library. You can take SATs as much as you want on the scheduled dates but twice is recommended. You have to pay $45 and register on Collegeboard. Late registrations are 15 dollars more. If you are eligible you can get a freewaiver from Mr.Chu in room 139 it is based on income. Good luck people.

Lakers vs Wizards

Lakers sent the Wizards back home with their 11th straight loss on Sunday. The final score was 99-92. It was a lcose game but Lakers had it they were in control. Its nice to see some change every game should be like that. Kobe shouldn't have to hit anymore buzzer beaters unless its a very competitive team. The Lakers need to play well overall as a team. I expect them to give their full performance in the Playoffs. As for my other tem athe Knicks well hav eto see next year what they can do. Or what players they can get. You can read about that discussio nin my other blog. Back to the game, Pau Gasol had 28 points and 12 rebounds. Lamar Odom had 13 points and replaced Bynum. Odom started instead and had 6 assists and 3 blocks. Kobe Bryant scored 24 points and 20 of them from jumpshots during the second quarter. He was 8 for 11 and scored four 3 pointers. The Lakers still have the best record in the Western Conference their record 52-18, Keep it up.

Tigers text are leaked

Everyone already knows Tiger Woods cheated but now all the real info is coming out. I used to think they just dont leave this guy alone. He apologized for gods sake, but now I think his mistakes are coming back to bite him in the back. I mean this one is his fault. He was messing with some dirty people. Who knew Tiger Woods can be this dirty and messed up. He was texting a woman names Joshlyn James and many more. Those texts are now out on the internet. More than 100 text messages. Some things he said are:

- OK, I would like to have a threesome with you and another girl you trust.
- I want to treat you rough, throw you around, spank and slap you
- Have you ever had a golden shower done to you? ... just morbid curiosity.
- You are my f**king whore. Hold you down while I choke you

Like wow for real tiger you dissappoint me. Any way his last text to the women was on October 4, 2009. It siad "Don't f**king talk to me. You almost just ruined my whole life. If my agent and these guys would have seen you there, F**k." All I have to say is Mr.Woods the media is not gonna be off you for a long time. You wont forget this it will always haunt you. You messed up in more than one way. You messed up bad man. Im tired of hearing all this things so basically im done with you. I forgive you but im not a fan. I used to respect you for your success. You lost a lot of fans. Good luck in life.

The Devils Triangle

I'm sure all of you guys heard of the Bermuda Triangle. Its located near the Atlantic Ocean and covers about 500,000 square miles. It surrounds Florida, San Juan,Miami, and Puerto Rico. No one goes there because of many disappearances and accidents. They say all those accidents are just coincidences and based on human error but what if its something more. People get lost when they travel because navigation or compasses go wild when you enter the area. No evidence or remains are found. People are scared to go to search and those who search also may disappear. Although its possible that so many accidents happened there and that started the rumors but then again why is it only that one place where weird things occur. Scientist say there is reasonable explanation concerning a scientific reason involving methane gas. People say its aliens or a portal to some other world. Others claim its a cover up of the government. There could be a secret place or resource there that the government wants to hide so they make ships disappear and sink. Planes crash and they are never found. What do you think it is. Do you believe in extrateresstials, conspiracy theories of the govt, scientific reason, or just natural mistakes. These incidents kinda reminds me of Lost the show where they crash on an island and they don't know where the place is or how the plane crashed and how they survived. The show on ABC it looked something like this when the plane crashed but then it changed into something different. Do not watch Lost the show is seriously garbage. The director sucks and the writer needs some new material. If you really want to literally get lost as in confused, watch the show Lost. They should actually make the story and not just make it up as they go. Anyway comment and let me know your thoughts.

My blog

The theme of my blog is really just surrounding everything. Its basically anything on my mind. Its a lot of entertainment but it also has many important events. it revolves around Current issues, what they are about, and why they are important. Its like an update on events that take place in life and a discussion about it. I always try to give hard facts and the story itself in a detailed manner, basically I do my research. I give my opinion and leave the reader with something to think about. My blog can be fun and serious. Its just like when your bored you read about news, entertainment, recent events, and comment on it. Give your opinion and talk about it. Or you can express your values, principles, or theories by debating on serious issues in the World. I work hard on most of my blogs or the serious topics so its hard to chose my best work. I think so far my best work consists of three blogs. Its between The conspiracy theories, Earthquakes, and the Role of celebrities in society. I wouldn't say my worst blog but the ones that don't have enough effort are the ones that are very short. Like if its a new movie, sports game or review, those are most of the time a paragraph. I talk about it but I don't always connect to the blog like I do in hard news stories. I think my blog is successful so far. I wish and hope to improve or make it better. I will try to find more stories, genres, and topics to write. That way my blog can appeal to more people and I can have more followers and comments. Also maybe I'll get ratings and recommendations on their blogs. So if you have some time on blogger make sure to go and check out my blog at the link below. Go have some fun, I'll guarantee you can atleast connect on one of my blogs.

Blogs to check out

There is some serious blogging going on out there. Its the hot thing on the block so here's some you guys might want to take a look at.

yea i think you guys should take a look at http://jmblogger-latestgadgets.blogspot.com/2010/03/htc-legend-android-phone-reviewed.html this blog. This person writes about the latest tech gear and electronics. he gives his own opinions as well. As you know HTC got some of the hottest phones. If your a fan of different phones and cant still decide to chose one check this out. Tech freaks here is the new HTC android. It is sleek and shiny like the iPhone, it also got a home screen. Its touch screen obviously now a days everything is. The smart phone has a 5 mega pixel camera with a 600 MHz computer.Go check it out.

Another interesting topic is the NBA finals. Anybody that's a sports fanatic check this blog out http://ennygunz.blogspot.com/2010/03/nba-playoffs.html. Yea it sounds a little funny but its a good blog. Ennygunz talks about sports and teams and shes real with it. She has her own views and tries to back it up. She gives a good argument. Anyway the possible candidates for the NBA finals are the usual. Cavs Lakers, Magic, Celtics and Nuggets. Ennygunz goes for the Cavs because of none other than King James. I want the Lakers, want Kobe to get that Fifth ring. It would be what everyone wants to watch in the finals the two best players in the game especially when the stakes are high. Although people say Kobe looks like hes slacking I think its the Lakers overall. Or else Kobe wouldn't have to drop 30 or hit game winners. He wouldn't have to close it out the team should already have it closed. I think the Lakers can win it but they wont this year its looking bad. The team to watch out for is Denver they have a deadly squad. For more info, views, and predictions check this blog out. What are your predictions?

If your into celebrities and you like gossip this is the place to be http://mohammadsayz.blogspot.com/2010/03/trey-songz-is-bisexual.html. He has the latest news on celebs and entertainment. He recently wrote about Trey Songs and talks about his sexual orientation. There are rumors of him being bisexual. Yea they are just rumors but you never know. He doesn't look like the type. Many people might be disappointed they looked up to this guy. Thy have rumors that he sleeps with men and he had a relationship with his old manager. Maybe the manager wants revenge and spread this rumor. What do you think find out more in this blog. Another thing the talk about is his song "Say Ahhh". Sounds very suspicious maybe there might be another meaning because the song is so sexual but it could just be more coincidences. In the end I'm still gonna like his music so it doesn't matter but i don't believe it. Give your opinion and comment on this blog.

Kobe going to Work....Again

Lakers get another exciting win on tuesday. They played the Toronto Raptors and Kobe hit another game winner. He also scored 32 points. The Lakers needed this one badley as the Denver Nuggets are creeping up on the standings. They have been in a slump these past few days they were in a 3 game losing streak but Kobe is ready to do work. The Lakers were didnt do their best at the first half they gave up 58 points to Toronto and couldnt knock down their shots. They did a bad job on grabbing rebound but all it took was the fourth quarter to take a W and who else to hit it none other than Kobe Bryant. After Chris Bosh hit a three of his own to tie up the game at 107, Kobe Bryant answered back with a fadeaway jumper over two people with over a second left. The Lakers got the victory 109-107. Andrew Bynum also did good he scored 22 and took 8 of 12 that were shots. Lamar Odom scored 23 points off the bench. That what I like to see keep getting wins make it to the playoffs. Fight your way to the Finals and hopefullly get that 5th ring Kobe. Honestly Im not saying they cant but I dont think are going to do it this year, too much competition. Id like to see Lakers and Cavs this year because people hyped it up last year and it didnt happen. If it does it wil be something to watch. The two best player going at it in a finals game when the stakes are the highest. It will prove a lot of theories or be good support. Well just hav eto wait and see

America's obsession with Celebrities

America and celebrities they just don't go together. Celebs hate the citizens and citizens piss off the celebs. I mean people are just obsessed. They cant leave celebrities who have money alone because their lives are interesting. Ours aren't so we dig into others lives and violate their privacy. We try to copy them and because we look up to them but once they do something wrong they arent forgiven. The press is all over them and they even start rumors just to put something on tv for you to watch. Celebrities are a good way to make money you can use thier lives as a story or news. Which is not actually news. Once we get tired of one we follow another or the next best thing. We actually follow all of them others get more air time thats all. We have been doing it for so long its like a tradition. You can drive people crazy by following them all the time its like a younger sibling always following you. How would you feel? Why do you think some celebrities fall off and become known as crazy maybe they cant take the publicity anymore and start to choke. It gets to a point where they cant take it anymore and they dont care what people think they want to live their lives without rules or certain thing to worry about. Maybe thats all because of us. We should stop this but it I don't think it can't be stopped because its been around for years and people can't stop, some celebrities like it too. Its a good business and some like the fame. I think they should let people live thier lives because you cant play with peoples lives and use them as a form of entertainment. Thats thier business. I know celebrities are rolemodels but you have to realize nobody is perfect.

Octomom goes clubbin in NYC

Nadya Suleman A.K.A. the octomom who was recently on The View, hit the clubs in NYC on Wednesday. As a good responsible mother would, She hired someone else to watch her 8 kids. Then the 34 year old partied down like a teenager and had her girls night out. I think this is ridiculous. She wanted 8 kids just to get publicity. She has the mother of the year award and she doesnt even got a job. She doenst even know how to be a mother. Shes just in it for the fame and the money. Or should I say our money. Shes on welfare and that means government money and that means our money from paid taxes. Someone should take the octomom to the octogon.

The roles of celebrities

Lets face it we all are obsessed with celebrities in our society. Everyone is interested in celebrities whether they mess up or do something good. Its always some hype. We should leave those people alone let them live their lives. I mean i know its gonna happen its inevitable. I guess because people see celebrities as really amazing people, something else. A role model to follow. Their lives are exciting and ours aren't so that why we get into their personal space to spice up our mediocre lives. A perfect example is the inncident with Naoimi Campbell. She recently got into a squabal with a taxi driver. The media says she assaulted him. Now people are claiming she has issues or has a anger problem. It ruined her reputation. Even if thats true maybe she had a reason to hit the driver. Maybe the driver said something to get her so ticked off and angry. You have to get both sides of the story or the full story if before putting it as "news". I wouldn't blame her anyone would get angry if people wouldn't stop bothering you and the media is always around your business starting stories about you just to get ratings or views. That goes to show you that you cant use peoples lives as a form of entertainment its not right, its not cool.

From 23 to 6

Recently Lebron has asked for a change in his number. He was filling out the forms and sending it to the NBA. He requested the number 6 his USA number. He will continue to be compared to Jordan but I guess hes trying to go on his own path. I like that hes tryin ghis own number and being himself. We also have to remember that was Bill Russells number and he might try to win as much as championships as him. Also another legendary player that had it was Julius Erving a great dunker. Maybe thats what hes trying to symbolize. It might be a best seller when the jersey comes out like when kobe changed from 8 to 24.

World ending or something more

Okay so recently there has been many earthquake. How can that possibly be. Theres just so many things going on all at once and they are wierd. Can it be our time can I be the world is ending with all these earthquakes and the recession. I mean it's just hitting random countries. Do you think this can also be the work of the government? Did we somehow find a way to control the weather or cause natural disasters. I looked into it an researched an it's true there is possible technology to do that and maybe government can do it or is Doing it but we don't know. We are not clear because government hides their research. What if they are doing this to other countries to get revenge or start our economy going. What if they do it so everyones economy can go down then it will be Americas chance to be on top and be the worlds only superpower. Notice there was suppose to be a earthquake/tsunami in Hawaii but it didn't happen the warning was put off. Doesn't this look strange as Hawaii Is part of the U.S. Also Japan said it didn't want no relation or alliance with US anymore diplomatically. Can this be revenge from the U.S. It can all be coincidences but hey I'm just thinking and it's just one theory. Not proven just a thought.

Secret societes in the music idustry

We all believe in secret societies right? We all have our views of theories and weird stuff going on. Well I just heard rumors that jay-z can be part of a secret society. He is known to be a free mason who worships the devil and has satanic demonic subliminal messages in his songs. He uses music to send his message. Jay denies of being In this so called society Illuminati. Illuminati is the name of the group tha is secretly trying to take over the world or already have control and is using artist like jay to help send their message. Jayz admits of believing in the Freemasons but his was even if there is a Freemason why would they pick me it's retarded. the theory might seem ridiculous but there is many proof and support. For example rockefella is his record company and John d rockefeller was a 33 bloodline member of the Freemasons. Jay-z also says he is a mason in a number of his songs. The Freemasons sign is very similar to Jay-Z rock symbol for Rockefella. Also Jay-Z 's hit Run this town featuring Rhianna and kanye is also said to be part of a satanic message. Jay talks about all black everything and Rihanna talks about a dangerous love affair referring to being dangerous to love the devil. There is said to be many hidden messages in the lyrics. The video is very dark and it seems like people
are getting for a battle or war to conquer an take over. To worship the devil and fight trot him so he can run the town. Although remember these are just theories and rumors. For all we know
it can be coincidences. I mean if you were a great successful rapper, the best out there. It's impossible not to have hatred or people trying to bring you down. I still like jays and his music for now I don't take it even tough there are good arguments that get you thinking. Even if he is part of some
group he isn't Doing anything wrong just what he is paid for. I bet anyone else would do the same thig if they were paid or even forced to be in a group and use their career as a secret message for others. Money talks so yea I wouldn't blame him but I would be suprised. Also it's a secret society. That's why he can't tell any one that's why islts a secret. Any way I really don't care for now I'm gonna put iloff these rumors. You decide if you want to look more into this . Look up some of the keywords in my blog and search it. Also make sure to watch Jay-Z exposed on YouTube.

Earthquake hits chile and many more.

There was an Earthquake that hit in Chile and many other countries as well. The after effect of Haiti's earthquake has also provoked tsunamis all over the world in countries such as Japan and Hawaii. That is why Chile is most likely not getting enough or all the attention as Haiti did. Remember Haiti's earthquake hit alone and now there are so many countries to lookout for. Although, I think they all deserve the same amount of attention. Chile's rector scale detected the earthquakes magnitude as 8.8 quake. There was a toll death of 723 people dead and 19 missing. The after effect of the earthquake were the tsunamis. Chile's infrastructure is well developed and strongly built so that is why it isn't as bad when it hit Haiti. Haiti is not yet highly developed so they had lots of support. I think Chile will be aided but they will get on their feet quick. Japan as well because they are already preparing and they are a superpower candidate. Hawaii was suppose to be in jeopardy but they dodged a bullet and now they lifted the warning for the state. In other news they said the Chile earthquake may have shortened the day. The earth slowed down its axis. This may be a very small difference they say it will be one millionth of a second less. interesting but nothing to worry about for now. All these earthquakes are looking suspicious. Its getting alot of people worried. Can New York be next? Is the world coming to an end? You decide.

Book review

To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic novel written by Harper Lee. It has won the author award and Pulitzer Prize award. The book is in the eyes of a little girl named Jean-Louise Finch also known as Scout. She starts off by talking about the time her older brother, Jem broke his arm. At first the novel talks about how Jem and Scout have their adventures of trying to meet their weird neighbor, Arthur "Boo" Radley. He was the outcast of the community of Maycomb. They would violate him by trying to expose him and make him come out of his house. They heard a lot of bad things about him that were not true. In reality he was a good person and he just liked his privacy. He did a lot of good things for Scout and Jem but very secretly that they werent aware of it until later. He is the one that ends up saving both of them.Through out the book another problem was a court case. It was about a colored man name Tom Robinson who was accused of raping a girl named Mayella Ewell. She was a very lonley girl who wanted a friend so she tried to seduce Tom. Tom would help out Mayella sometimes with her chores when she asked for his help. Mayella's father, Bob Ewell was a very bad man with a drinking problem. When he found out Mayella was hanging out with a blackman he was furious. So he beat her up until she was black and blue. We find out occasionalloy he would also rape her. To cover up his own mistake she forced Mayella to blame Tom. Tom wanted no part of Mayella and was only looking to be her friend and help her. Tom Robinson was guilty of his crime even though the defending argument was strong and it was clear he had no intention of hurting Mayella. It was a time of social prejudice and racism. Thats why he didnt win. Tom eventually dies in prison The lawyer defending Tom was Atticus Finch, Scouts father. Later on in the book Bob Ewell wants revenge from Atticus for making him look bad so he attacks Atticus' children. Luckily Boo Radley helped save their lives. These events make up to give the message of the book. Which is also potrayed in the title. One famous quote that Atticvus states is " It is a sin to kill a mocking bird.Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird." The mockingbird can also represent characters in the story such as Boo Radley he was a real gentlemen and people saw him as an outcast. Tom Robinson was a innocent helpful citizen and people saw him as a violent blackman. They both did good and never hurt anyone. This book gives the message of not judging people too quickly until you put put yourself in their shoes or thier skin becaue not everything is what it seems. Another major theme is to accept people for who they are as people and not alienate them because of race. Stop social inequlity, racism, and prejudicism. This is the statement the author was trying to make. This is why I love this book it is a great example of things that still go on and it teaches a valuable lesson. Like Muslims and Arabs being discriminated for 9/11. Some who dont have anything to do with it. Even people from other races and other religions were discriminated because of the event. What I learned is racism is still alive deep inside, people just conceal it. Also remember that there are only two kinds of people in this World, good and bad. I strongly recommend this book and give it a 5 out of 5.

Kobe is Back

Kobe comes back his injury. He took a couple days off to recover so he doesnt risk more injury. The amazing thing is he played like he was playing for weeks. He came back strong and payed off for the Lakers as always. With 4.3 seconds left on the clock Kobe Bryant hits a three pointer at the buzzer. The final score was 99-98. Kobe dropped 32 points and had 5 assists on Tuesday nights game. The Lakers overall playe dwell too Pau Gasol had 22points and 13 rebounds. The Lakers were also 4-1 when Kobe was out. They are a good team one of the best in the west. I hope they can get another championship

school laptop webcams in homes of students

Students got their privacy violated when the school laptops they take home recorded their every move. The laptop's webcams allowed Lower Merion school district to view students by remotley activating the cameras without being aware of it. This is a serious lawsuit as there is evidence or images of Harrington Highschool students and their families nude. Also in other uncomfortable situations. Parents found out about the webcams when the assistant principal ofthe school spoke to a student about bad behavior at home. The superintendent of the school still didnt respond to this. Wow what was the school thinking and what were their reasons for this act. It is unappropriate on their part. There is no need for them to know what goes on at home. That is private they dont gain anything from it and it violates human rights. HOme is where your safe, how would you feel if you didnt know people are watching you in your home. Then after you find out that you were being watched you feel even worse. I think the school should apologize on their behalf and stop the webcam game. Also delete all the images or get rid of them andgive it to the rightful owners. Unfortunatley they didnt. If the school is that bad that students need to be seen at home then close it down. I understand cameras in school but at home without notification that I cant tolerate. The tracking gps on the laptop is alright but this should be illegal.

All star weekend slumps 2010

Man this years all star weekend was weak. Was maybe the worse entertainment out of all the years. The dunk contest was too hype for no reason. The 3 point contest was beter than that it atleast something to watch. The celebrity game blows and haier challenge was so so. The new horse competition was dry. I misssed the skills competition also I cant say anthing about that. The rookie challenge was whatever, it just went by. Also I tihnk the All star game was the most entertaining. The dunks in that game was better than the dunk contest itself. I dont know i guess it was just so bad. I expected it to be alright not too intense but atleast the dunk contest be good because of shannon brown he was a disappointment

Tmac on the Knicks

I'm glad to say Tracy Mcgrady is on the New York Knicks. He was traded through a 3 team deal with the Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets. The Knicks got rid of Jared Jeffries, and Jordan Hill. They acquired Sergio Rodriguez and Tracy Mcgrady. They also traded off Nate Robinson to Boston for Eddie House. Now the Knicks have enough cap space for 2 max players. Possible candidates are Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Amare Stoudemire. I tihnk the trade was a good move. Now we have a good chance to get two star players and hopefully go to the play offs next year. Even though Mcgrady is not the gold he was before he is still can shine. The dude can still play and he was a good add to the team for now letrs see how he does to get him a real contract.Mcgrady

Grotesque vocabulary in Congo

I learned some new words today from incidents that happen in Congo everyday. One is auto canibbalism. Its when someone cuts their one flesh and eats it. They eat a part of their own body and this happnes in COngo. Militia in eastern Congo force people to do that. Another one is rerape. Rerape is basically self explanatory its when the women in Congo who get raped, reraped, and reraped and raped again and again. The author of the article is focusing how U.S. should start a diplomatic push for peace because we are a superpower. Even though we have are own needs and we are in a recession we have the ability to do this and its the right thing. The author talks about things we can do to help Ocngo out he has a four step process. He says we first have to put pressure on Rwanda and stop funding its tutsi militia in Congo. Basically stop the Rwanda war in Congo. The next step is to keep tabs on warlords and what they export or import. Also start returning civilian life in Rwanda. finally arrest people and build a army for Congo. I think we should have helped then long ago and not wait till now to put it on our shoulders because we have problems of ouru own. But we have to start somewhere.

How the War in Congo started

The fight in Congo was becasue of money and racial reasons. Congo is a wealthy country. It contains a lot of diamonds, gold, copper, and other rich minerals. The people of Congo never got the benefit of their own land. Instead the natural riches went to corporations, warlords and corrupt government. Because of them the population dispersed and turned into rival ethnic groups. There was one ruler who tried to stop the rebellions his name is Joseph Mobuto. He was successful at stabilizing the country but later he negan to use the couuntries riches to make sure he was in power. Which caused him his downfall and slipped the country away from his hands. In 1996 genocide in Rwanda, the neighboring country to Congo made his rule come to an end even faster. It also made the start of Congos biggest problems. After the Hutus in Rwanda were defeated they fled to Congo, fearing the Tutsi government. They joined forces with Mobotu and tried to eliminate Congos population of Tutsis. Tutsi militias allied with local troops in Uganda. They overthrew Mobtotu and Laurence Kabila became president. He changed the countries name from Zaire to Democratic Republic of Congo. Soon it became a proxy war when Kabila called Zimbabwe,Angola, and Namibia to defeat the Hutu militias. The next five years these countries fought and later on others. Some people accussed the different groups for using the war for covering up taking the countries riches. More than five million people died in the war and the aftermath, from both disease and starvation. Through all the fighting the civilians have suffered a lot because many get caught in cross fires and discrimination form the opposing militias. The country has now somewhat found peace and is beginning to restore but its taking baby steps because East of Congo is still unstable. The United Nations (UN) is trying to restore peace by helping civilians and reconstructing the country itself. Still it is complicated as they say now they have Warlords taking control and running their own personal militas, taking the natural resources of Congo as well. So its not over yet and its still not safe. This has been the longest war since World War II and we still have to stop it. So its a work still in progress.

War in East Congo affects its civilians

Man the things I heard and read about the stuff going on in Congo makes me thankful for the life I have. The position Im in, the opportunities I have. All the chances I get. This inncident Makes bad times in my life look like im crying over just spilled milk. This was a crazy article. I was just sick reading it. The article was about a young girl about th age of 9. her family was murdered. The Hutu militia killed her parents and took her sisters who were only the ages of 6 and 12. They took them to the forest to make them their wives and rape them. Chance Tombola, the 9 year old orphan got away. Chance fled to her aunts house Jeanne Birengenya. The same militia men came to her aunts house. Five men raped her aunt. they kille dher uncle by mutilating his body part. Cutting him open and all his intestines falling out it was described very graphic and gory. One man also raped 9 year old Chance. Chance and Jeanne both recieved STD's. Now they are both outcast in their society. This sounds like something that would happen in a movie but its hard to believe this kind of thing is happening everyday and no one is doing anything. Its sad they have to live that life. This war is going on for too long and i think someone should do something about it. People are dying and being abused everyday all over a rivalry between Hutus and Tutsis and probably things that happened a long time ago.

Kobe gets the glory

Kobe Bryants makes histroy when he became all time scoring king of the Los Angelos Lakers.Bryant finished off the game with a season high of 44 points Even though the Lakers lost he did an outstanding job. It was a close game the final game wsa 95-92. I guess the significance of the game made the concentration of winning get off balance. They didnt stay level headed. Kobe Bryant who was playing with a sore finger and a sprained ankle still had no trouble scoring he was gonna be on top eventually. Its inevitable it was simply just gonna happen. 31 year old Kobe Bryant now has 25,208 in 14 seasons of his career. Which now quincidently moved him to the 14th place on the all time scoring list of the NBA.

Legion

Theres a new movie coming out called the Legion. It looks kinda freaky and wack. I mean its fantasy but then again its about angels and demons and stuff but the trailer is wierd. It show old lady tryin to bite someone like shes a vampire or something. Her teeth are sharp. Also some guy with long arms comes out from a ice cream truck? like what is that. Any way its like a group of angels protecting this pregnant women from demons and stuff. They say her baby is the last hope for humanity and that what their protecting. Lets see how it goes some people are suspensing it and hyping it up to making it hot. I beg to differ but well see its already released. Catch it in theaters.

Jets lose to Colts

Ahhhhh man very dissapointed the Jets loss to the Colts. The final score was 17 to 30. I really thought they were gonna go far this year. I mean Giants, the other New York team I like had their chance. I wanted the Jets to go all the way. But its okay i expected them to lose cause Colts are a very good and competitive team. Oh well maybe next year.

Knicks vs Mavericks

Knicks played the Mavericks and they got kncoked down hard. It was their worst possible loss. The highest scorer was Jared Jeffries and hes not even a star, he lead with 14 points. David Lee was second he had 11 points. I mean it was a disaster the starters didnt even play well and then the they brought the bench in and they still didnt do good. The Mavericks scored over a hundred and lead and beat the Knicks by 50. The final score was 128-78. Knicks couldnt even make it to 90's or 100's. They just gave up and they need to start working on their gamne again. I just hope they make it to the playoffs. They have to work harder because this game was just a disgrace and embarassing performance. Link to the story is below.

ALL STAR WEEKEND

All star weekend is coming up and everyone is excited. Im looking out for the dunk contest the most thats the event to watch. Especially because they have Nate and Shannon brown competing I dont know why Lebron didnt sign up even though he announced he would enter last year. The allstar game is will also be exciting this year they have some great players competing on both squads. East vs West. Who do you think will win.

Lakers take a harsh loss

Lakers lose to the Cavs and I think it was an unfair game. The final score was 93 to 87. First off lebron was getting all the calls and Lakers barley got the right calls that they needed. NO foul calls. Its like the officials wanted the Cavs to win. I mean both teams played a good game and both teams are good but I think they didnt give the lakers a fair chance and Cavs had the advantage because it was their home. Lebron kept complaining so he gets his calls. Kobe didnt get his calls you dont see him complaining. Another problem was Pau Gasol and some players werent playing hard and giving it their all but still officials didnt give them the foul calls either. It doesnt matter though Lakers have the better record and its just a season game loss. Lebron was celebrating like it was a championship win, i dont blame him I would be excited too if I beat Kobe's team. I think hes getting too cokcy and its all an act of being hubmle. I hope he changes his way but no doubt about it he got talent and he could be the best after kobe leave but he has to change his personality and let go of his ego. Theres a link on the game with full details below.

Kobe 24>23

Kobe Bryant is the best of the best. I mean I cant take anything away from MJ. He will forever be the greatest of all time. He changed sports. But I think Kobe bryant is better than him athletically. Yea i said it. I mean Jordan achieved more and played in a agressive and contact time of game but Kobe plays in a whole new era where it is more complicated and advanced. I just think Kobe is more skilled as a player, the things he does. The guy did what nobody ever did score 81 points. He ven plays with a broken finger and shoots with 4 fingers. thats crazy and his shot is still on point. I'd like to see Lebron shoot with one finger broken. Not taking away anything from Lebron but he needs to mature set his priorities straight and win a title. He needs to learn alot of things and I think Kobe is the best role model to follow.

Disaster in Haiti

Ahhh man what can I say its just a sad thing to see. it was a natural disaster the Earthquake that struck Haiti. The ricktor scale was 7.1 I hope my country is not at risk and is safe. I hope those people are okay. I just wish I can do something and help them because they're helpless. I mean lets be real what if those are your own people and Haiti was your country. Even if they arent their still human.

Movies

Denzel Washingtons back with a new movie called "The Book of Eli." It looks pretty good. dnezel has a new character. Its like the first time he made an action movie with a lot of fighting, its unique. The story is uncertain and not revealing in the trailer but it looks like its the end of the world and its a desert area. Everyone is after this book that Denzel has and thats all that it looks like. I thnik Ima go watch it. Anybody know any new good movies coming out?

Friday, January 8, 2010

What I wanna know now is why were they fighting if they are still friends? They dont seem to make it personal or take it serious. Its so weird i dont know what to believe or what story to follow. None of it adds up because no one is taking anything serious. Arenas is still joking around and smiling. I believe he should be punished or something to be done for his actions, and fast. it seems he didn't learn his lesson.

Gilbert Arena's Gun Game

Man were gonna lose a pretty good player because of the wrong choices he made. What I wanna know is why would he resort to guns when hes a millionaire. He can face possible jail time or be banned from the NBA.
